Shopping List For Bringing Your Puppy Home !

These are a few things you should have before you bring your new puppy home….

Purina Puppy Chow (in a the bright blue bag)

Food and Water Bowls

Brush

Puppy Shampoo

Cheerios (Treats for Training)

Chew toys ( Tug ropes are great)

Balls for Playing Fetch

A Crate. One with a Divider will grow with your puppy. Approx.30x21x24 will usually work well

Washable Bedding for the Crate

A Stuffed Animal (or 2 or 3) for Inside the Crate. ( Helps the puppies sleep better the first few nights)

A Leash and Collar. A Collar that will go as small as 9″ and expands, usually works for the puppies.

If you’re picking up your puppy, bring along a bowl and a bottle of water. We recommend not stopping at rest parks on your way home. Until your puppy has had all of it’s puppy shots it’s better not to go where many other animals go that may not be vaccinated.

Your puppy will have been to our veterinarian at least 2 times before going home..The puppies have their dew claws removed when they’re a few days old. They go back to the vet about a week before they’re scheduled to go home for another exam and to get the first round of puppy shots, wormed and a dose of Revolution. We will give you all of the shot records from our vet and his info in case your vet wants to contact him. You can take your puppy to the vet for a check up as soon as you get your puppy. Let your vet know when your puppy received it’s first set of shots so that you can schedule your puppies 2nd set of shots.
